I’m pretty excited about this book!

Almost invisible.  This is how light my pencils look, before inking.  I use a 6H pencil on 2-ply Bristol paper.  This is the cover to my new book, FUNGUS the unbearable rot of being, to be published this fall by Retrofit.  Should be out for SPX!

Religion.
I’m going through all the Fungus stories I drew for the newspaper this year and giving them important sounding titles.  I’d like to make a book collection, but I’m not sure who will publish it.

Television!  I drew this strip with some of my Fungus characters on the ipad.  It was really hard to draw on the ipad.  It took a long time and didn’t come out as good as if I did it on paper.  But I still enjoyed it, and maybe I’ll find a real use for this method eventually.  I do just love watching the line appear on the screen.

Here’s my very first drawing on my new iPad Air.  Just a quick little thing to see how the Adobe Ideas app works.  (Thanks to this guy & his work, for turning me on to the app!  I don’t know if I have a real use for it yet, but it’s fun to play with so far, and super easy to use.)

If you find yourself near Springfield, VT you should check out the gallery at The Vault.  I have an art show up there… 50 paintings and 6 pages of comics (Fungus and Johnny Boo).  They also have some of my books for sale.  I think the show will be up through Christmas, but I’m sure they would let you take the work early if you need it for a present.

4th grader Eli Simon knows who’s awesome! And he did this great drawing of my characters… including dudes from Johnny Boo, Fungus, Pinky & Stinky, and Dragon Puncher.

All year I’ve been running this weekly comic strip FUNGUS in Seven Days (the local paper here in Burlington, VT).
I’m serializing short stories starring a variety of different fungal creatures.  Most are about partying, computers, or God.
The first Fungus book (which precedes the weekly strip) is available for download.  Or you can get the physical book.  Some of the serialized stories from the weekly strip have ended up in anthologies, including Alternative Comics #4 and Beach Girls.
